"Touch the town of Písek or Schweik‘s imperial and royal manoeuvres in Písek"

Already the nineteenth town festival of the modern history

Held by the Centre of culture Písek with the financial support of the Town Písek.

Friday 10th June

Beginning at Velké náměstí Square (14:00): fanfare, onset of the units, parade, anthem, invitation to individual events - Saturday’s parade, beer competition, military training, introduction to the programme. Big opening Ceremony with the Mayor at 18:00, Mayor’s speech, fanfare-eurovision, military parade, honorary salute, toast to the festival success, presenting Schweik’s gift to the Mayor.

Saturday 11th June

Military camp in Palackého sady Gardens: tents, armour, field kitchen. Training of recruits - children, but also adults - delivery of a certificate of qualification. Shooter - demonstration of town defence, military clock, military goulash, army bread, beer and other military seasoning.

Parade through the town (14:00): Majorettes, Schweik in the whellchair with Ms Müllerová, ŠRAML music band, Schweik and the Kaiser or another panjandrum of Austria-Hungary and the Mayor in a coach and pair. Music band, soldiers, fanfare, Mayor’s welcome of panjandrum and again blessing Písek’s festival. Military parade, blessing the flags, honorary salute, military honors.

Schweik’s main programme (16:00) - Walk through Austria-Hungary and in the Russian captivity, competition for Schweik‘s unique pint, dancers, full scale mobilisation of the population - "Schweik’s cabaret manoeuvres" . Military camp in Palackého sady Gardens.

Schweik’s departure (19:30)

Sunday 12th June

10:00 Marian festive mass in Alšovo náměstí Square

14:00 Municipal Island Restaurant - Touch the town of Písek - children's afternoon with competitions, prizes, music and gifts for children. Organised by LIVE Agency in cooperation with the Centre of culture Písek. Entrance fee 10 CZK per child.
