Short walk round Písek

Start your walk at the Museum courtyard. Go down Karlova Street and from there head for the old bridge, turn left and walk along the embankment. You will have good views of the panorama of Písek with its castle, malt house, town power plant, prison and the Cloister church.

Walk down the steps to the former Holy Trinity Cemetery. Walk through the cemetery and cross the iron footbridge to get back to the right riverbank. You will re-enter the town via the former Putim Gate and the road will take you to the Dean's Church. From there your walk will continue pass the Lion Memorial to the former Hotel Dvořáček, then down Komenského Street to the post office. Turn left into the garden Palacké sady, walk through the tunnel to Havlíčkovo Square and then to Alšovo Square which is your destination.
