classed as the ´Most beautiful bridge in
Europe´ at the Paris Exhibition in 1937. It was built in
1939-43, and commemorates the place where the American and the Red
Armies met in 1945.
BRIDGE AT STÁDLEC
Empire style chain bridge from 1848. In 1960
it was transferred to the Lužnice River from Podolsko before the
old Vltava valley was flooded by the Orlická Dam. The only
preserved chain bridge in the Czech Republic was made operational
again in 1975.

built in 1886-9 using the technology of free cantilever
concreting method without scaffolding (inaccessible, train
connection Tábor - Ražice)
