Čížová village is situated approx. 6 km north westwards from Písek town. It was founded in 1401 - there are still some historical monuments e.g. church of St. Jacob from the 13th century, which looms above the village on the hill of the same name. The surroundings are suitable both for trekking and cycling - the area is covered by a net of cycle routes. In the nearby Nová Ves Animal Rescue station Makov can be found and became a popular destination not only for school, but also family trips. The village offers a good refreshment possibilities and a good train connection.
