Village Heřmaň is situated in the picturesque surroundings, on the left bank of Blanice River, approx. 15 km from Písek town. The village itself, as well as its neighbourhood, is suitable both for trekking and bicycling. The area is covered by forests, luring also the mushroom pickers. There is pension Benešovský mlýn, offering accommodation in lodges and nearby swimming.
Birthplace of the poet Jan Čarek, place of work of film director Václav Krška.
