Mirotice town is located in a valley of Lomnice rivulet. The surroundings are full of monuments and are connected with a number of personalities, such as Matěj Kopecký, Ladislav Stroupežnický or Mikoláš Aleš. Annually, Alšovy dny (Aleš Days) Mirotické setkání loutek a hudby (Mirotice Meetings of Puppets and Music), are organized at their tribute. The village itself as well as the whole area offers plenty trekking and cycling possibilities.
